Mary trained with Whitelaw Wells and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 after completing her Bachelor of Economics degree at Monash University, Australia. Prior to starting her training contract with Whitelaw Wells in 1989, she worked in Wellington, New Zealand as an Accountant.

After qualified she joined KPMG Peat Marwick as Tax Consultant for a short stint and later moved to stock broking industry as Financial Controller cum Company Secretary for nearly a decade and assisted in the company’s Initial Public Offer (IPO) listing which saw the company successfully listed on the Main Board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) in 1997.

Mary re-joined Whitelaw Wells in 2005 as a Manager in our Chinese department, managed a large portfolio of clients from many sectors and became a partner in 2009 until 2011. She decided to switch to a lesser role as Senior Manager Admin in 2011 due to family business commitment in Malaysia.

Mary is also a Certified Practising Accountant with CPA Australia since 2008 and a Chartered Accountant with Malaysian Institute of Accountant since 1994. She speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and Malay.
